Trafficable roofs – heavy goods vehicles | inverted roof

The pressure-stable and reliable system for installing paving on roofs and underground structures that can be passed on by heavy goods vehicles (load class 3, N3). Suitable for roofs with an inverted roof construction. With an inverted roof, the thermal insulation is installed above the waterproofing membrane.

The core of this trafficable (for heavy goods vehicles) roof system is the ND 600hdsv Drainage System. This multifunctional, CE-marked drainage system has a compressive strength of 1,200 kPa, which is suitable for the load of heavy goods vehicles, such as trucks, ambulance and fire engines. The drainage system is equipped with a strong filter geotextile on the top, a perforated core and a vapour-permeable geotextile on the bottom.

A strong drainage system for sustainable element paving

The drainage system protects the waterproofing system against the build-up of water pressure. The ND 600hdsv Drainage System ensures good water drainage from the sub-base layer and prevents freezing and rutting in the paving elements. It therefore provides a stable and durable surface for the pavement.

Filter geotextile, drainage core and vapour-permeable geotextile glued into one product

The ND 600hdsv Drainage System combines a filter geotextile, perforated drainage core and protective geotextile in one product. The special woven filter geotextile combines high puncture resistance and minimal stretch, which can withstand the forces caused by static and dynamic loads. The vapour-permeable geotextile protects the XPS insulation against mechanical loads and, in combination with a perforated drainage core, the water vapour from the XPS insulation can evaporate freely.

Quick and easy installation

The ND 600hdsv Drainage System is easy and quick to install because the filter geotextile, perforated drainage core and vapour-permeable geotextile are glued together in one product. The drainage system is supplied on a roll and is therefore easy to handle and quick to unroll.

The ND 600hdsv Drainage System is installed on top of XPS insulation. Two layers of ND TGF-20 Separation and Slip Film are placed underneath, creating a double slip layer that prevents mechanical and dynamic loads from being passed on to the waterproofing membrane, both during and after construction.

Combine paving with vegetation

For this system the paving can be combined with vegetation. If the waterproofing membrane is not root resistant, the ND WSB-80 Root Barrier should be added to the composition of this utility roof.
