Intensive green roofs
The sustainable system for creating full-fledged gardens and park landscapes on roofs with intensive vegetation such as trees, shrubs and lawns. Maintenance and water requirements are higher in comparison to extensive green roofs. It occurs often that intensive vegetation is combined with pavement.

Substrate roof – Intensive
The growing-medium layer of this standard composition for intensive green roofs consists only of substrate. The substrate height is determined by the type of vegetation, the desired water buffering and the maximum load on the roof (see table below).

Root-resistant waterproofing membrane
Specific applications
A strong core with integrated water buffer
The core of this intensive green roof is formed by the ND 4+1h Drainage System on a roll. This multifunctional CE-marked drainage system with a high compressive strength protects the vegetation against water build-up and at the same time stores water in the built-in water reservoir (4.3 l/m²) for dry periods. In addition, the ND 4+1h Drainage System protects the waterproofing membrane against the build-up of hydrostatic pressure and, in combination with the ND TSF-100 Slip and Protection Sheet, against mechanical loads both during and after construction.
The ND 4+1h Drainage System is easy and quick to install because the filter geotextile, drainage core with water buffering and the protective geotextile are glued together. The drainage system is supplied on a roll and is therefore easy to handle and quick to unroll.
If the waterproofing membrane is not root-resistant, we recommend adding the ND WSB-80 Root Barrier.
